Christmas tree lighted up

Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson joined the ceremonial Christmas Tree Lighting at SM City Mall in Bacolod City, Saturday, October 30.

SM City executives led by Mall Manager George Jardiolin and other guests joined the governor in the activity.

Lacson said that on the occasion of the annual tree lighting, he would like to remind everyone to look at the present circumstances from a different perspective.

“Yes, we are not allowed our usual revelry, however, we also now have more time to deeply reflect and ponder on the significance of the birth of our Savior, and what it means to us.

The governor also said that for this season, he encourages everyone to support local and help and support one another in this difficult time.

“Yes, humanity may be faced with an adversity of unparalleled degree, but we shall persevere in faith, and shall allow the magnificence and glory of the season to strengthen our trust in God for our Savior has come for us,” he added.

The theme for this year’s Light a Tree at SM made representations of sugarcane and iron dinosaur, which is a collective story as a people and as a province.*
