Central Negros Electric Cooperative/Negros Electric and Power Corp. has the cheapest electricity in the entire Western Visayas and Negros Island Region this month, NEPC spokesperson Jonatan Cabrera said Tuesday, Sept. 24.
Despite an increase in generation charge, the total residential rate of CENECO/NEPC this month is only at P11.70/kwh, he said.
He said as a distribution utility, NEPC has not increased its distribution charge.
It is the generation charges that constitute a significant portion of the total electricity rates per kilowatt hour, he said.
Generation charges cover the cost of power CENECO/NEPC purchases from its suppliers.
