The Central Negros Electric Cooperative announced a 62-centavo per kilowatt-hour decrease in its electricity rates for October.
CENECO said that the electricity rate in October is P11.0674/kWh, which is P0.6210/kWh lower than September’s P11.6884/kWh.
CENECO attributed the decrease to the reduction in the generation charge due to the significant drop in Wholesale Electrcic Spot Market prices.
It also said that the decrease in VAT charges also drove the electricity rates down this month.
The pass-through charges equivalent to P9.8808/kWh of the total electricity rate include the Generation and Transmission charges, ERC-approved adjustments, government subsidies and taxes, CENECO said.
Only P1.1866/kWh of the electricity rate goes to CENECO through Distribution, Supply, Metering (DSM) Charges and Reinvestment Fund for Sustainable CAPEX (RFSC) for its administrative and operational services, it added.
Meanwhile, The Negros Occidental Electric Cooperative also earlier announced a P1.63 per kilowatt-hour decrease in their electricity rates for October.
NOCECO said that its electricity rates for the month is at P12.9131/kWh, which is P1.6334 lower than last month’s P14.5465/kWh.
The Northern Negros Electric Cooperative has yet to release its power rates for the month.*
