Central Negros Electric Cooperative announced on Friday that its power rates have dropped by P2.5077/kWh in August.
The average residential electricity rate for August decreased to P10.8380/kWh from last month’s P13.3457/kWh, it said.
It attributed the decrease to the drop in the generation charge by 21.55 percent, and the cessation of collection of additional universal charge for missionary electrification amounting to P0.0433/kWh.*
