Busay, Bago City, Negros Occidental, on August 3.The fatality was identified as 52-year-old Joebert Tacolod.The victim was found in the fishpond behind his home in an  advance stage of decomposition.The police has yet to determine the reason for the victim's death and whether foul play was involved.His body has been subjected to post mortem examination.*

The scene of the accident in Barangay Su-ay, Himamaylan City, on Tuesday.*Himamaylan PNP photoA motorcycle driver died after he figured in an accident at the highway of Barangay Su-ay, Himamaylan City, Negros Occidental, Tuesday, August 2.The motorcycle of 22-year-old Virgil Serilla fell while passing a broken part of the road.The victim, who fell from his motorcycle, landed on the opposite lane and an oncoming vehicle ran over his head.He was declared dead on arrival at the hospital.The driver of the car, who is a village chief, has been released from police custody, after the victim’s family did not file a case.*

The man injured in the shooting incident.*Himamaylan PNP photoA tricycle driver was injured in a shooting incident at Nanding Gatuslao Street, Carabalan Road, Brgy. 3, Himamaylan City, Negros Occidental, on Wednesday, August 3.Injured was Ronald Gane, 48.Police said that the suspect identified by the police as 49-year-old Charlie Canieso and his companion were approaching two men at the city’s old market and opened fire, but the bullet was warded off by a bystander and hit the victim on his left arm.This prompted bystanders to maul the suspect while his unidentified companion fled the scene.The victim was brought to a hospital, while the suspect is now in police custody.

After hiding for six years, the luck of a 74-year-old man accused of rape finally ran out when he was arrested at Avanceña Street, Barangay Poblacion 1, Sagay City, Negros Occidental, on August 1.The suspect was identified as Lorenzo “Isyot” Carballo of Sitio Tagnipis, Barangay Taba-ao, Sagay City.Cadiz Regional Trial Court Judge Joseph Javier issued the warrant of arrest against the suspect on Oct. 3, 2016, for the crime committed in 2015.No bail was recommended for Carballo’s temporary liberty.The suspect is in the custody of the Sagay Component City Police Station.*
