The Bacolod City’s Civil Registrar’s Office is being questioned by the Philippine Statistics Authority for the issuance of a birth certificate to a Chinese national in 2019.On Wednesday, representatives from the PSA went to the Civil Registrar’s Office to investigate how the Chinese national acquired a birth certificate from them.Civil Registrar Hermilo Pauyon said on Friday, April 26, that they already presented the documents that PSA needs for their inquest.He clarified that a foreigner can have a birth certificate issued in the country for as long as the person was born in the Philippines.*

A tricycle driver was shot dead by an unidentified suspect at Deca Homes Subdivision in Brgy. Cabug, Bacolod City, on Thursday, April 25. The police identified the victim as Teresito Gepelga, 56. The suspect was in his tricycle that he parked on the   side of road when he was approached by an unidentified man who shot him, PCapt. Michael Tuburan, Police Station 9 chief, said. The police said Gepelga was brought to the hospital but was declared dead on arrival. Tuburan said an investigation is ongoing to identify the suspect. They are looking for CCTV footage in the area that could help in identifying the suspect and will ask the victim’s family if they know of any possible motives for the crime, he added.*

A 43-year-old man was shot dead by an unidentified suspect in Sitio Cambogui-ot Proper, Brgy. Camindangan, Sipalay City, on Wednesday, April 24. The victim, whose name was withheld by the police,  was on his way home when he was waylaid by an unidentified suspect and shot several times. The victim was brought to Sipalay City Infirmary where he  was declared dead.*
