The first mpox patient in Talisay City, Negros Occidental, is a 20-year-old woman with history of travel within the Philippines, Dr. Girlie Pinongan, Provincial Health Officer, said on Tuesday, June 24.The 20-year-old had rashes and a fever in the second week of June, went for a checkup and was advised to undergo a test for mpox, Pinongan said.It is not clear where and how the 20-year-old got mpox, she said.Pinongan said because she was a suspected mpox case, the patient was advised to isolate and was given treatment.The patient was not hospitalized.The results of her test stating that she was positive for Mpox came out during the weekend, Pinongan said.The 20-year-old has recovered but remains in isolation at home, she said.Her family who also isolated have no ...
