NegOcc hog raisers shift sale of pigs to Manila from Leyte

Negros Occidental hog raisers are now selling their pigs and other pork products in Metro Manila following the ban on their entry into Cebu, Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson said Friday, March 17.The prices are lower in Metro Manila compared to Leyte but it is important that they can sell their pigs, Lacson said.Gov. Gwendolyn Garcia has banned the entry of pigs and pork products from Negros Occidental into Cebu province as a precaution against African Swine Fever (ASF).Lacson has appealed to her to lift the ban since Negros Occidental remains ASF-free but she has yet to reply to his letter, he said.The ban has prevented the Negros hog raisers from delivering their pigs to Leyte via Cebu.The Negros hog raisers have sold 1,100 heads of pigs in Manila since March 7 at about P...

Ceneco's residential rate for March.*Central Negros Electric Cooperative’s (CENECO) power rate has dropped by P1.2040 per kWh, while Negros Occidental Electric Cooperative’s (NOCECO) is up by P0.8373/kWh in March.
