Small habits that helped with my Antiphospholipid Antibody Syndrome pregnancies

Small habits that helped with my Antiphospholipid Antibody Syndrome pregnancies

Knowing you have Antiphospholipid Antibody Syndrome (APAS) can be devastating. For women who are recently diagnosed, it could be nerve-racking. Many are confused about how they are suffering from this condition and what could have caused it.For so many years, I have been thinking about how do we acquire this disease disorder (because yes, it is acquired). In one survey I did in the past, there were really no significant co-relation with how people get it – some were healthy-eaters, some were not; some smoked, most did not; it really is mind-boggling.But upon consulting with my doctors, these were the small things that (I think) helped me a lot in managing my disorder and I am sharing them with you in the hopes that you might benefit from them, too.Move.Ahhhh… moveme...

Children’s rights

Lifestyle
It seems like 2020 was a blur. It is now December. Christmas is coming. But there were important celebrations that happened in November…so allow me to backtrack a bit.November is celebrated as the National Children’s Month. The event is pursuant to Republic Act No. 10661 or the “Act Declaring the Month of November of Every Year as the National Children’s Month.”It coincides with the adoption of the Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC) by the United Nations General Assembly on November 20, 1989.This year, the theme focused on promoting the rights of every child in this time of the pandemic. The provincial government of Negros Occidental is supportive of the children, not just during the children’s month, but all year long.It has formed the Provincial Council f...

Anticipating Christmas 2020

Lifestyle
No doubt about it, Christmas season 2020 is different from all the others we’ve had before. The pandemic is still raging no matter how tired we are of all of it. More and more people we know have been hit and some have tragically died.Although there is a spark of light on the horizon with the vaccine possibly coming soon, we have to remind ourselves not to let our guards down. The threat is still imminent and we can’t be reckless or complacent on the last leg of this struggle. So, does this mean we can’t celebrate the holidays anymore? We still can. And maybe because of this pandemic, we can celebrate Christmas as it should be celebrated: as simple and as meaningful as that night on the manger where the Reason for the Season was born. This is the perfect year to go bac...
