
Tia Nuca community pantry up
Comelec Commissioner Rowena Guanzon (left) with the Tia Nuca community pantry beneficiaries.*Commissioner Rowena Guanzon of the Commission on Elections and her siblings have put up a community pantry in front of their home at Magsaysay Street in Cadiz City, Negros Occidental.Their “Komyuniti Pantri ni Tia Nuca” is named after their mother, the late Negros Occidental Board Member Elvira Guanzon, the commissioner said.“My mother had a lifetime tradition of giving food and clothes to the poor. Our gate was always open to those who were in need,” Guanzon said.Their community pantry provides food packs and clothes to senior citizens and persons with disability.Guanzon thanked relatives, friends, and Cadiz residents and business people who have been donating to the community...
