
Meat prices continue to surge
Prices of meat in the markets of Negros Occidental have continued to surge amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.The prevailing market price of livestock and poultry weekly monitoring of the Provincial Veterinary Office reported that prices of pork have significantly increased by P15.69 per kilogram, from P204.76/kg on January 25 to P220.45/kg today, February 1.Carabeef also increased by P3.81/kg, from P264.40/kg to P268.21/kg, as well as beef by P3.76/kg from P274.45/kg to P278.21/kg, and chevon, which is up by P8.06/kg from P329.33/kg to P337.39/kg.The price for broiler chicken was also up by P21.27/kg at P180.62/kg from P159.35/kg, while the price for native chicken remained the same since last week at P253.24/kg.Eggs are priced at P6.66 (small), P7.33 (medium), P8 (larg...
