The number of local government units in Negros Occidental hit by pig deaths from various diseases have increased to 19 and the barangays to 148, the Provincial Veterinary Office (PVO) reported Tuesday, July 4.The latest to be hit are barangays Mambugsay and Inayawan in Cauayan town that reported 61 deaths.The number of pig deaths in Negros Occidental have reached 15,726 with total losses of P178,223,850, the PVO said.The hog raisers affected are 3,262.*

Fuel prices are expected to increase on Tuesday, June 27, Unioil Petroleum Philippines announced on Saturday.Diesel prices may increase by 90 centavos to P1.10 per liter, and gasoline by10 to 30 centavos per liter, it said.On June 20 the per liter price drop of gasoline was 35 centavos, diesel - 10 centavos and kerosene - 30 centavos.The year-to-date net decrease for diesel was at P4.05 per liter and kerosene at P6.35 per liter, and the net increase for gasoline was at P6.35 per liter on June 20.*
