Calatrava man burns house of neighbor 

A 35-year-old man allegedly set his neighbor’s house on fire resulting in damages worth P150,000 at the Relocation 1 in Brgy. Bantayanon, Calatrava, Negros Occidental, on Monday, July 8.

The police said  Leonardo Alisna, 35,  set fire to the house of his neighbor Rene Padayao, 54, using gasoline and a match stick at around 7:40 a.m. Monday. 

The suspect was already apprehended by the victim when the police arrived at the scene of the fire. 

The police said that the motive could be personal grudges against the victim. 

The suspect is now under the custody of Calatrava Police Station while members of the Bureau of Fire and Protection extinguished the fire and will conduct a thorough investigation.*
