Cadiz likely to cancel virtual Dinagsa fest

Cadiz City is likely to cancel its virtual Dinagsa Festival next week with the rising number of COVID-19 cases.

Cadiz Mayor Salvador Escalante said a meeting will be held Friday, January 21, to come up with a final decision.

Even if the festival is held virtually people will still gather to watch the performances, he said.

Dinagsa used to be a weeklong celebration to honor Señor Sto. Niño (Infant Jesus).

COVID-19 has hit 52 health workers in Cadiz City, Escalante said.

The Cadiz City Health Office has been closed for decontamination. It will reopen on Monday.

The COVID-19 vaccination drive in Cadiz City has been cancelled until the first week of February, Escalante said.*
