Bago hospital to reopen but no obstetric services

The Bago City Hospital in Negros Occidental that was locked down during the weekend will resume operations tomorrow, December 7, minus the obstetrics (OB) department, Dr. Allan Abayon, the hospital’s chief, said today, December 6.

The hospital was locked down after its personnel were exposed to an OB patient from Pulupandan who tested positive for COVID-19, Bago Mayor Nicholas Yulo said.

OB services at the hospital will still be unavailable tomorrow, Abayon said.

The swabbing of the OB Department staff is scheduled this Wednesday, December 9. If they all test negative, the OB section will reopen on Thursday, he added.

However, the emergency room, outpatient department and ward services at the hospital will resume operations tomorrow, Abayon said.

Bago City had no new COVID-19 cases today, its City Health Office reported.

There have been 341 persons hit by COVID-19 in Bago City, of which 14 died, 308 recovered and 19 are active cases, the CHO added.*
