The Emergency Operations Center-Task Force (EOC-TF) will begin to inspect the city’s isolation facilities to ensure that they are well-maintained and functioning to accommodate asymptomatic patients who are undergoing the mandatory 14-day quarantine protocol.
EOC-TF executive director Em Ang said the move is part of their preparations for a possible COVID-19 surge.
“The EOC will work closely with the City Engineer’s Office so that all necessary repairs will be made ahead…We will also tap the General Services Office to help the EOC make sure that the facilities are cleaned,” Ang said.
Isolation facilities have accommodated fewer patients for three consecutive months beginning October 2021 considering that local COVID-19 cases have been on a steady decline due to the ongoing vaccination drive and the Bayanihan Bakunahan conducted by the Department of Health last November, an EOC-TF press release said.*
