A high-value drug suspect was arrested while more than P374,000 worth of suspected shabu was confiscated during a buy-bust operation in Bacolod City on Friday, July 31.
The Police Regional Office-Negros Island Region (PRO-NIR) said operatives of Police Station 8 arrested alias “JB,” 39, in Purok 4, Magsungay, Brgy. Singcang Airport.
Police said the suspect was allegedly engaged in the illegal sale of dangerous drugs in Brgy. Singcang Airport and Brgy. 40, prompting authorities to conduct surveillance and validation before arranging a buy-bust operation through a confidential informant.
Authorities recovered one sachet of suspected shabu sold during the operation, seven additional sachets, one knot-tied plastic bag containing suspected shabu, a coin purse, and the marked P500 buy-bust money.
The confiscated suspected shabu weighed about 55 grams with an estimated standard drug price of P374,000.
Police said the seized evidence was marked, inventoried, and photographed in accordance with Republic Act 9165.
The suspect is currently detained at Police Station 8 pending the filing of appropriate charges.*
