The Palarong Panlungsod is targeted to be held in Bacolod City in November, Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez said on Tuesday, August 6.
There will be 22 sporting events to be participated in by Bacolod residents who are 17 years old and below, he said.
The Bacolod barangays will be merged into 10 participating clusters for the games that could be held on two weekends, Benitez said.
The mayor wants to promote grassroots sports and start developing athletes’ potential at a young age.
Who knows we may be training future Olympians who will win golds”, he said, like gymnast Carlos Yulo.
Yulo this week won two gold medals in the Paris Olympics.*
