The Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) and the Negros Occidental Provincial Police Office (NOCPPO) were awarded as among the best police units in Western Visayas during the celebration of the 121st Police Service Anniversary at the Police Regional Office-6 headquarters at Camp Martin Delgado, Iloilo City, on Thursday, September 15.
BCPO was awarded as the Best City Police Office Unit in the region, as well as the Best Unit on Campaign Against Illegal Drugs.
Col. Thomas Joseph Martir, BCPO director, received the awards from Maj. Gen. Benjamin Santos Jr., acting deputy chief for operations of the Philippine National Police, who was the guest of honor.
Police Station 2 was also adjudged as the Best Numbered Police Station and Best Unit on Campaign Against Illegal Drugs, under the Numbered Police Station Level.
Police Station 4 bagged the award as Best Unit on Tokhang Kontra Armas Luthang (TKAL) and Police Station 6 as the Best Unit in the Implementation of “Birada Semana,” both under the Numbered City Police Station Level.
Santos congratulated all the awardees for all their efforts and exemplary achievements. “Indeed, your sterling accomplishments contribute to the foundations of nation-building in the country. We greatly appreciate and value your everyday hard work and success,” he added.
Lt. Col. Sherlock Gabana, BCPO public information officer, said the awards and recognition will serve as inspiration for all the labor and devotion in duty to continue to accomplish more and achieve better for the Bacolodnons.
NOCPPO was named as the Best Police Provincial Office among the eight provincial police offices in the region. It was also cited as the Best Unit in the Campaign Against Illegal Drugs.
Other police units cited for their campaign on illegal drugs were Binalbagan and San Carlos police stations.
Hinigaran and Kabankalan police were awarded as the Best Unit on Tokhang Kontra Armas Luthang.
The 2nd Negros Occidental Provincial Mobile Force Company was awarded as the Best Unit in the Implementation of Oplan “Project Maanyag.”
Both Bago and EB Magalona police were cited as the Best Unit in the Implementation of “Birada Semana.”
Valladolid police was awarded as Best Women and Children Protection Desk in municipal police station level.*
