
Bacolod City has had 1,994 new COVID-19 cases and 41 deaths in May, City Administrator Em Ang said Friday, May 28.
The city had 30 COVID-19 deaths in April.
That brought the total COVID-19 deaths in Bacolod City to 263 since the start of the pandemic last year, said Ang, who is also Bacolod Emergency Operations Center executive director.
The highest number of COVID-19 cases in Bacolod City in a single month was 2,607 in September 2020, she said.
The highest number of deaths in a single month were 50 in August last year, she added.
Bacolod City had 84 new COVID-19 cases and Negros Occidental had 68 on Friday, the Department of Health reported.
Bacolod City has 1,153 active COVID-19 cases, the DOH added.
Negros Occidental has 1,367 active cases. It has had 13,047 recoveries and 330 deaths since March last year, the Provincial Incident Management Team reported.*
