Bacolod dengue cases 20.6% lower than 2023  

The Bacolod City Health Office reported 10 new dengue cases in Bacolod City from May 19 to 25, for a total of 154 cases since January. 

The CHO said that the cases are 20.6 percent lower than the same period last year that had 194 cases with two deaths.

Taculing topped other Bacolod barangays this year with 29 cases, followed by Mansilingan with 11, Estefania, Tangub and Cabug – 9 each, Banago – 8, Alijis, Vista Alegre and Mandalagan – 7 each, and Handumanan – 6. 

Among the pediatric cases, there were four babies  aging 12 months and below who were hit with dengue, while there were 57 cases involving children aged 1 to 10, and 36 cases for those aged 11 to 19.

Meanwhile, there were 13 new rotavirus cases in the city for a total of 171 since the start of year, and two new cases for acute gastroenteritis for a total of 56.

There were no new cases for leptospirosis and hand, foot, and mouth disease, the CHO reported.*
