The Bacolod City Health Office (CHO) recorded 81 new dengue cases in its 34th week of monitoring, which is 139.7 percent higher compared to the same period last year.
The CHO said from Aug. 18 to 24 it monitored 81 new dengue cases bringing the total number this year to 875, with three deaths.
This is 139.7 percent higher compared to the same period last year, which had 380 cases with three deaths.
Taculing has the highest number of dengue cases this year with 103, followed by Bata with 89, Estefania with 63, Villamonte – 62, Mansilingan and Granada – 50 each, Mandalagan – 43, Sum-ag – 42, Alijis – 40, Banago – 34, and Tangub – 33.
Meanwhile, leptospirosis cases in Bacolod decreased by 75 percent with only one new case monitored last week.
As of 34th week of monitoring, leptospirosis cases in Bacolod totaled to 16 with 6 deaths, which is 75 percent lower than the 66 cases and 12 deaths in the same period last year.*
