The Bacolod police will remain on full alert for All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day on Friday and Saturday, Nov 1. and 2, Col. Joeresty Coronica, Bacolod police director, said on Tuesday.

He said the Bacolod police have been on full alert since the start of the MassKara Festival on Oct. 11 and will remain under such status until Nov. 2.

Full alert means all police personnel cannot go on leave, he said.

Guns and other deadly weapons, alcoholic drinks, karaokes, loud music, concerts and gambling will not be allowed at the cemeteries, Coronica said at a press conference with Bacolod Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez at the mayor’s office.

Coronica said meetings have been held with security stakeholders and  owners of private cemeteries.

He said Bacolod security forces will be deployed at the city’s 14 cemeteries starting Thursday.*
