Gubernatorial aspirant John N. Orola Jr., who is presently in Manila, said he coordinated with the office of Senator Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go, vice presidential aspirant and Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte Carpio and presidential aspirant Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., in cooperation with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) for food and other forms of assistance for typhoon Odette victims.
After the onslaught of typhoon Odette he immediately called the offices of Go, Marcos and Carpio, and Greco Belgica, chairman of the Presidential Anti-Corruption Commission and president of the Pederalismo ng Dugong Dakilang Samahan (PDDS), to provide immediate assistance for the typhoon victims, Orola said in a press release.
DSWD Regional Office 6 Protective Services Division Chief Lucita Villanueva was instructed by DSWD Field Office VI Regional Director Ma. Evelyn B. Macapobre to facilitate immediately his appeal for food and other forms of assistance for the victims of typhoon Odette in Negros Occidental, he said.
Bago, Hinigaran, Binalbagan, Himamaylan, Kabankalan, Isabela, La Castellana, Moises Padilla, Ilog, Cauayan, Hinoba-an, Sipalay, Don Salvador Benedicto and Escalante are among the areas listed by DSWD to receive the assistance, Orola said.
President Rodrigo Roa Duterte and Go were in typhoon-hit Kabankalan City Monday, and Marcos and Carpio turned over relief assistance to Negros Occidental Vice Governor Jeffrey Ferrer at the Bacolod-Silay Airport on Monday, he noted.*
