Rep. Ma. Lourdes Arroyo distributed E-Trikes to the 117 barangays of the fifth district of Negros Occidental at the Isabela Socio Cultural Center in Isabela town, Negros Occidental, Friday, December 10.
They are her Christmas gifts to the barangay captains of the fifth district because the multi-purpose vehicles are what the barangays need, she said.
Arroyo was joined by mayors Rhumyla Mangilimutan of La Castellana, Irene Montilla of Isabela, Alejandro Mirasol of Binalbagan and Ella Celestina Yulo of Moises Padilla in the distribution of the E-Trikes.
Also present were vice mayors Ursecio Inodeo of Binalbagan, Renato Malabor Jr. of Isabela, Teresita Gabrido of Hinigaran, and candidates for board member of the fifth district Rolito “Bebot” Espinosa and Anthony Occeño.
The mayors thanked Arroyo for the assistance she has brought to their local government units and expressed their support for her reelection bid.
Montilla said Arroyo’s brand of leadership ensures that all the barangays get help, no one gets left behind. The E-Trikes will be a big help to the barangays, she said.
Espinosa, a Negros Occidental Electric Cooperative director, said if he wins as board member he wants to ensure the continued implementation of sitio electrification in the fifth district of Negros Occidental.
There are still about 268 sitios in the fifth district that need electrification, he said.*
