The Army’s 3rd Infantry Division and the Area Police Command-Visayas have strengthened their partnership to end the insurgency in Western and Central Visayas, Maj. Gen. Marion R. Sison, 3ID commander, said Tuesday, February 13.
Sison and PMaj. Gen. Robert Rodriguez, APC-Visayas commander, met at Camp Peralta in Jamindan, Capiz, on Tuesday to discuss how to enhance military and police cooperation in the two regions.
APC-Visayas covers three police regional offices 6, 7, and 8, and has a mandate to orchestrate and supervise inter-regional operations against insurgency, terrorism, and other internal security threats.
Rodriguez assured the 3ID of the full support from APC-Visayas, particularly in its efforts to end insurgency in Western and Central Visayas.
Sison said that this commitment is essential in establishing and sustaining stable internal peace and security, which will greatly improve the lives of the people in Western and Central Visayas.
“With a stronger partnership with our police counterparts together with other stakeholders in the region, our dream of establishing Stable Internal Peace and Security for the people of Western and Central Visayas is at hand,” he said.*
