The Philippine Army officials and local chief executives are coordinating efforts to establish a Stable Internal Peace and Security Status (SIPS) Zone in Central Negros.

BGen. Orlando Edralin, 303rd Infantry Brigade commander, met with Bago City Mayor Nicholas Yulo and La Carlota City Mayor Rex Jalandoon on Tuesday, July 23.

The meetings were held to discuss plans aimed at integrating, harmonizing, and operationalizing the various efforts of the Local Government Units and the 303IB and its line battalions, including the 62IB in Central Negros to achieve SIPS status, a 303IB statement said.

Edralin said that he is thankful to the two mayors for their support in establishing safe and secure environments for their constituents in Central Negros.

“This partnership represents a significant milestone in our joint efforts to bring an end to the local communist armed conflict and ensure the well-being of our communities”, he said.*
