There has been a rise in amoebiasis cases in Barangay Manlucahoc, Sipalay City, a health official confirmed Wednesday, November 8.
Dr. Florencio Juplo, Sipalay City Health Officer, said since Friday last week 31 Manlucahoc residents have suffered from loose bowel movements.
Ten were hospitalized and four tested positive for amoebiasis, he said.
All of them are stable and are gradually being discharged, Juplo added.
The Disease Surveillance Team of the Sipalay City Health Office has gone to Manlucahoc. They inspected the water sources in the affected area and chlorination was undertaken, he said.*
