A total of 950 residents in three Bacolod City barangays received assistance through the Department of Labor and Employment’s (DOLE) emergency employment program and the Department of Social Welfare and Development’s (DSWD) anti-hunger campaign on Friday, July 4.

The efforts, coordinated with the Bacolod City government, targeted communities in Barangays 5, Singcang Airport, and Villamonte, a press release from the Bacolod City Communications Office said.

BARANGAY 5

In Barangay 5,150 residents completed work requirements under DOLE’s Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) program, earning P5,130 each.

Bacolod Mayor Greg Gasataya, who joined Barangay Captain Rosanna C. Lamanosa and DOLE officials at the distribution rites, cited the program’s role in providing temporary livelihood to displaced workers.

SINGCANG AIRPORT
Five hundred beneficiaries in Singcang Airport received TUPAD payouts at the Cadena de Amor Gymnasium, with Councilor Caesar Distrito and local officials in attendance.

The event marked Gasataya’s first public engagement in the barangay since assuming office. He underscored the city government’s prioritization of grassroots economic recovery, the press release said.

VILLAMONTE

DSWD’s Walang Gutom Program distributed nutritionally balanced food packs to 308 families in Barangay Villamonte, each containing 25kg of rice, fresh vegetables, fruits, eggs, and protein items, the press release also said.*
