74.39% brgy voter turnout in NegOcc, Comelec says

There was a 74.39 percent voter turnout in the barangay elections in Negros Occidental on October 30, Provincial Election Supervisor Ian Lee Ananoria said on Thursday, November 9.

He said of the 2,014,725 registered voters in Negros Occidental and Bacolod City, 1,498,754 voted.

There was also a 72.76 percent voter turnout in the Sangguniang Kabataan elections, he said.

Ananoria said of the 660,709 registered SK voters aged 15 to 30 years old, 480,752 voted.

Meanwhile, Ananoria said 97 percent of the teachers who served in the October 30 polls in Negros Occidental had been paid their honoraria as of Thursday.

All teachers are expected to be fully paid by Friday, November 10, he said.*
