50 drivers negative for drugs

Fifty bus drivers at the Ceres South Terminal in Bacolod City tested negative for drugs last week, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in Negros Occidental reported.

The PDEA conducted “Oplan Iwas Aksindente” at the Ceres South Terminal where its agents conducted inspections and random drug testing of bus drivers.

PDEA-6 said that the operation was held to deter the transfer of illegal drugs through public transport terminals.

The inspection covered cargo, passengers, and their personal belongings, with the objective of identifying any potential illegal drug-related activities, it added.

During their operation, they found no presence of illegal drugs or their controlled precursors and essential chemicals.*
