The Department of Health (DOH) on Tuesday, May 31, said five new cases of the Omicron subvariant BA.2.12.1 have been detected in Western Visayas.
The DOH, however, did not specify where the cases were detected in Western Visayas.
Three of the cases are returning overseas Filipinos from the United States of America and the other two are local cases, DOH – Health Promotion Bureau Director Beverly Ho said in an online media forum.
All of the five cases are fully vaccinated against Covid-19 and are considered recovered, she said, adding that they had seven close contacts.*
