Maj. Gen. Eric Vinoya, Army 3rd Infantry (Spearhead) Division commander, paid his final visit to the men and women of the 11th Infantry (Lapu-Lapu) Battalion in Barangay Salag, Siaton, Negros Oriental, on Sunday, August 22.
Vinoya was accorded foyer honors and a reception line hosted by Lt. Col. Roderick Salayo, 11th IB acting commanding officer, and his staff, a press release said.
The highlight of the activity was the awarding of the Campaign Plan Kalinong II Streamer to the 11IB for successfully dismantling the South East Front (SEF), Kometing Rehiyon-Negros, Cebu, Bohol, Siquijor (KR-NCBS) and the awarding of the Military Merit Medals with Bronze Spearhead Device to five exemplary personnel involved in two successful combat operations.
Salayo thanked Vinoya for his support, motivation, and supervision that greatly helped the unit in accomplishing its mission.
Vinoya commended the Lapu-Lapu troopers for dismantling the SEF, KR-NCBS. He also shared his three guiding principles that steered his 38 years in the military service – excellence, commitment, and victory.*
