About 3,000 motorcycle enthusiasts from motorcycle clubs all over the country will converge at the Capitol Lagoon and Park in Bacolod City on Friday and Saturday, April 4 and 5, for the 28th National Convention of the National Federation of Motorcycle Clubs of the Philippines (NFMCP).
Dubbed as “Balik Bacolod 2025”, the annual national gathering of big bike riders is hosted by the Thunderbugs Bacolod Motorcycle Club, one of the oldest motorcycle clubs in the country founded in 1964.
“We chose ‘Balik Bacolod 2025’ for this year’s national convention, because Thunderbugs also hosted this national motorcycle event here in Bacolod City in 2013,” Thunderbugs and NFMCP president Lito Aves said Thursday, April 3.
“Our fellow motorcycle riders from all over the country are on their way to Bacolod now, while some have already arrived. They’ll stay in Bacolod at least a day before and a day after the convention, providing a big boost to the economy of Bacolod and Negros Occidental, particularly for the hotels, restaurants, tourism sites and other business establishments which the convention participants will patronize,” Aves added.
Jao Varela is the Convention Chairman of Balik Bacolod 2025, while Manolet Lamata is the Chairman of both the Thunderbugs and the NFMCP, backed by Felipe L. Garcia as the Vice Chairman of Thunderbugs.
Friday’s activities feature the on-site registration, distribution of convention kits and viewing of product exhibits, highlighted by the Governor’s Night and Fellowship Dinner and raffle of door prizes in the evening.
On Saturday the highlight will be the Motorcycle Clubs Presidents’ Lunch Meeting at SMX, followed by the Mayor’s Night and Convention Dinner Program and the raffle for door prizes in the evening.
The on-site registration, distribution of convention kits and viewing of product exhibits continue on the second day of the convention.
Among the features of the exhibit are the latest models of all kinds and brands of motorcycles; motorcycle gears, oils, lubricants and other maintenance/replacement parts; motorcycle accessories and decals; and, most important for all riders, the wide range of the latest motorbike riding safety equipment.
Last year’s NFMCP national convention was held in Subic Bay Freeport Zone and saw the participation of approximately 3,000 riders, while the 2026 NFMCP National convention will be held in Cagayan de Oro.*
