Three minors riding a motorcycle died after colliding with a bus in Barangay Burgos, Cadiz City, Negros Occidental, on Friday night, March 27.
The victims were identified as “Rolly,” 17, who was driving the motorcycle, and his passengers “Jay,” 13, and “Kimjay,” 17, all of Brgy. Burgos.
Cadiz police investigation showed the motorcycle attempted to overtake another vehicle but veered into the opposite lane, where it collided with a bus driven by alias “Ramil,” 36, of Sagay City.
The motorcycle encroached into the opposite lane where the bus was traveling, resulting in the collision.
Authorities said the impact threw the victims onto the concrete road, causing fatal injuries.
All three were brought to the hospital but were declared dead on arrival.
Police said the victims were not wearing helmets at the time of the incident.
Meanwhile, the police confirmed that the families of the victims have reached a settlement with the bus company involved.
The vehicles were taken into police custody for proper disposition.*
