
A 20-year-old man died after drowning in a river in Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental, on Easter Sunday, April 5.
Police said the victim, a market vendor, was with his family during an outing at Pilio-Piliohan River in Brgy. Inapoy.
Investigation showed the victim swam toward a deeper part of the river where he later struggled and failed to stay afloat.
His body was retrieved after about 10 minutes and rushed to a hospital.
However, he was declared dead by the attending physician.
