Two Negrenses were found dead in Candoni and Cauayan, Negros Occidental, Friday and Saturday, January 26 and 27.
A 74-year-old female, whose name was withheld by the police, was found in a vacant lot near a sugarcane plantation in Purok Manzano, Brgy. Poblacion West, Candoni, on Saturday.
The victim was lying on the ground with gunshot wounds on her back, the police said.
Meanwhile, a 58-year-old farmer, whose name was also withheld by the police, was found dead inside his nipa hut in Sitio Hunob, Brgy. Tuyom, Cauayan, at about 7:30 a.m. Friday.
A resident was walking towards a coffee shop when he saw blood stains on the front door of the victim’s nipa hut, the police said.
When he checked it, he saw the victim lying with stabbed wounds on his chest.
Both victims will be subjected to post-mortem examinations.*
