A four-vehicle collision in Barangay Gargato, Hinigaran, Negros Occidental, on Sunday, March 13, led to the death of two people.
The fatalities were identified as Racal motorcycle driver Argie Capero, 33, of Barangay Baga-as, and Carla Magbanua, 43, of Barangay 2. Both were declared dead on arrival at a hospital.
The accident happened after a wayward truck loaded with construction materials and driven by Sanito Juno Jr., 39, of Silay City, rear-ended an L300 truck, which then hit a pick-up truck and consequently, the Racal motorcycle with the two victims on board, the police reported.
The truck encountered mechanical trouble, the police said.
The victims’ families have agreed to settle the case with the truck driver’s employer, the police added.
The driver was released from police custody after the 18-hour reglementary period lapsed.*
