Three huts at the ecopark in Manapla town, Negros Occidental, were burned down by unidentified suspects Monday night, March 14.

Capt. Jaynick Bermudez, Manapla police chief, said that a matchstick that could have been used for the arson was recovered in the area.

He said that they have yet to identify the perpetrators, and establish the motive for the crime.

The area is owned by Victorias Milling Co. and was recently developed into an ecopark by a non-government organization.*
