2 injured in stabbing incident in Murcia, three arrested

Two men were injured and three suspects were arrested following a stabbing incident in Murcia, Negros Occidental, on Friday night, April 24.

Police identified the victims as “Jeff,” 33, a habal-habal driver, and “John,” 24, both residents of Brgy. Minoyan.

Arrested were “Willie,” 46, “Jolo,” 40, and “Rey,” 56, also residents of the Brgy. Minoyan.

The Murcia police said a heated confrontation occurred between one of the victims and a suspect prior to the incident.

Police said the suspect later returned with two others and followed the victims to a waiting shed in Purok 3, Barangay Minoyan, where another commotion broke out.

During the altercation, one of the suspects allegedly stabbed “Jeff” in the stomach from behind using a bladed weapon.

Authorities said another suspect also attacked the second victim during the incident.

The injured victims were first brought to the Murcia Health Unit and later transferred to Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital in Bacolod City.

The suspects were arrested by responding police officers and are now under police custody.*
