2 injured in shooting

Two persons were injured in shooting incidents in two cities in Negros Occidental on Sunday, February 25, the police said.

A 40-year-old man from Brgy. Vito, Sagay City, sustained nine gunshot wounds inflicted by two suspects in Brgy. Jonob-Jonob, Escalante City, the police said.

One suspect was identified as a resident of Calatrava town and the other one remained unidentified

The victim was allegedly engaged in an illegal drugs transaction when the suspects shot him several times.

The victim tried to run inside a hut but the suspects chased him and continued shooting.

As a result, the victim sustained nine gunshot wounds in different parts of his body, while the suspects fled in an unknown direction.

A 55-year-old man was also shot by an unidentified person in Brgy. Rizal, San Carlos City.

The victim was manning his store when the suspect appeared and shot him, the police said.

The suspect fled on board a motorcycle.*
