There are 1,880 voters in Negros Occidental and Bacolod City who will vote during the three-day Local Absentee Voting (LAV) that kicks off Monday, April 28, Provincial Elections Officer Ian Lee Ananoria said on Friday.
The LAV will be held from Monday to Wednesday, he said.
The official ballots are being deployed at Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and the Philippine National Police (PNP) headquarters, as well as in local Comelec offices.
The LAV voters include AFP and PNP personnel, and members of the media who will have to work during Election Day on May 12.
They will only be allowed to vote for 12 senators and one party-list organization, Ananoria said.
Last week the internet voting for Overseas Filipino Workers also started.
The election has already began, Ananoria said.
He said on Election Day, May 12, senior citizens, persons with disabilities and pregnant women and their assistants will be allowed to vote ahead from 5 a.m. to 7 a.m., but they may also avail of express lanes during the regular voting hours, he said.
The voting hours for the rest of the voters will be from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on May 12, Ananoria said.*
