14 former rebels get aid in NegOr 

Close to P1 million  worth of assistance was given the 14 former rebels who surrendered to the Army during a ceremony at the Negros Oriental Police Provincial Office in Sibulan town on Wednesday, March 20. 

The former members of the dismantled Central Negros 1 (CN1-D), Komiteng Rehiyon- Negros, Cebu, Bohol, Siquijor (KR-NCBS) of the New People’s Army received  Enhanced-Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP) benefits from the Provincial Task Force Balik-Loob of  Negros Oriental. 

They voluntarily surrendered to 62nd Infantry (Unifier) Battalion, PNP of Guihulngan City and Canlaon City, and Guihulngan City Task Force to End Local Communists Armed Conflict. 

Through the Department of Interior and Local Government office in Negros Oriental, the 13 NPA members were given P15,000 each for immediate assistance and P50,000 worth of livelihood assistance, whole one “Milisya ng Bayan” member was also given P15,000, totaling to P910,000. 

Aside from their E-CLIP cash assistance, the Provincial Veterinary Office of Negros Oriental also awarded cash assistance of P5,000 each to the 14 former rebels with a total of P70,000.

The Provincial Agriculture Office also distributed live native chickens, vegetable seedlings, and reading materials to the former rebels. 

The Office of the Governor Manuel Sagarbarria distributed 50 kilos of rice and food packs through the Provincial Social Welfare and Development in Negros Oriental.*
