Former Negros Occidental governor and Kabankalan City Mayor Isidro Zayco said on Monday, January 22, that it is too early to talk about politics.
Zayco, who was asked if he is running for mayor of Kabankalan in 2025, said he does not know what his plans for 2025 are yet, it is a long way off.
Current Kabankalan Mayor Benjie Miranda said on Sunday that he is running for reelection in 2025.
Zayco said Miranda would naturally want to go for reelection since he is the mayor now.
On talks that he will also run for mayor, Zayco said “it is good they know that because I don’t”.
The elections are two years away, a lot can still happen, nothing is final, he said.
If he was interested in returning to politics he would have done it already earlier, Zayco said.*
