
Dengue cases in Western Visayas are now close to 1,500 with 165 new cases recorded last week, March 3 to 9, the Department of Health-6 reported.
The DOH-6 said there were 1,467 dengue cases in the region from January 1 to March 9, only a percent lower compared to the same period last year which was at 1,481.
Iloilo province had the highest number of newly-reported cases with 74, while Negros Occidental had 16 and Bacolod City had one.
Iloilo province has had 427 cases since the start of the year while Neg. Occ. has 204 and Bacolod – 28.
DOH-6 also recorded one dengue fatality in Iloilo City, bringing the total deaths in the region to three.*
