
A police officer wounded in the line of duty was awarded the Medalya ng Sugatang Magiting by Police Regional Office–Negros Island Region director, PBGen. Arnold Thomas Ibay, at the Silliman University Medical Center in Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental, on Saturday, Sept. 6.
The recognition was given to Police Executive Master Sergeant Niño Noynay for his bravery and dedication after being seriously injured during police operation in Sta. Catalina, Negros Oriental, last week.
Despite life-threatening circumstances, the policeman remained resolute in carrying out his duties, the police said.
The medal was conferred under Republic Act 6975, which authorizes honors for PNP personnel who display exceptional courage in the line of duty.
Ibay said the officer’s sacrifice reflects the core values of the PNP and serves as an inspiration to the police force and the community.*
