World No Tobacco Day set in Bacolod on Friday

The Philippine College of Chest Physicians (PCCP) is celebrating the World No Tobacco Day in Bacolod City on Friday, May 31.

 As part of the celebration PCCP-Negros Chapter will conduct a forum on its campaign against the use of vape at SM City Bacolod.

This year’s annual celebration is themed “Protecting the Children from Tobacco Industry Interference” where the PCCP-Negros will hold a motorcade, forum, and posting of information tarpaulins against tobacco and vape smoking, Ronel G. Sario, PCCP World No Tobacco Day Committee national chairman and president of PCCP Negros Chapter, said

PCCP will celebrate the occasion together with the Bacolod City Health Office, Anti-Smoking Task Force, stakeholders, and other local medical societies. 

At about 9:30 a.m. on Friday, a motorcade will start from Bacolod City Government Center Going to SM City Bacolod.

After the motorcade, a program at the mall’s south wing cinema lobby will be conducted, which will include discussions on data on vape use among children, effects of vape, roles of parents, schools, and doctors, among others.

The program will also be highlighted with the signing of the Memorandum of Agreement between CHO, PCCP, and Smoking Cessation and Anti-Smoking Task Force.*
