Representatives of 43 firms and financing institutions joined the Negros Occidental Bulk Water Project Investors Conference at the Ayala Malls Capitol Central in Bacolod City, Thursday morning, August 10.
Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson urged the prospective investors, some of whom joined the conference online, to invest in the P1.2 billion project.
“This invitation to be a part of our Bulk Water Project will create value not just for your enterprise but also for our people and province,“ Lacson said, as he assured that the provincial government is committed to creating a business-friendly environment.

The submission of pre-qualifying bids for the project is set in the first week of November, the bidding will be in February and the winner will be announced in April 2024, Lacson said.
The construction period is estimated to take three years, he added.
The target is for the project to produce a minimum of 34 million liters of potable water per day to serve the needs of residents of Bacolod, Talisay, Silay and Victorias cities, and Manapla and EB Magalona towns, the governor said.
The project aims to tap surface water from the Imbang and Malogo rivers, he said.*
