PCol. Dennis C. Wenceslao, the newly installed director of the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOCPPO), vowed to strengthen cooperation with local governments, private institutions, and communities to build a “culture of peace and security that is inclusive and sustainable.”

Speaking during the turnover of command ceremony at the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOCPPO) headquarters in Bacolod City on Tuesday, Sept. 9, Wenceslao said his leadership will be guided by the Philippine National Police’s 7-Point Focus Agenda, which he intends to tailor-fit to the needs of Negros Occidental.

“This new role is not just about leadership, but about building stronger bridges of cooperation,” Wenceslao said, adding “With unity, discipline, and unwavering dedication, I am confident we can achieve greater milestones for the safety and progress of Negros Occidental.”

He assured Negrenses that their police force is committed to listen, act, and serve with honor and integrity.

“I assure the people of Negros Occidental that the police will be there to willingly listen, take action, and serve with integrity and pride”, Wenceslao said.

Wenceslao also recognized the accomplishments of outgoing provincial director Col. Rainerio M. de Chavez, promising to continue and improve on the strong foundation left behind.

Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson, who attended the ceremony, pledged the provincial government’s full support to Wenceslao, stressing that effective collaboration between the PNP and LGUs is vital in maintaining peace and order.

Meanwhile, PCOL Dennis A. Esguerra, Deputy Regional Director for Administration of PRO-NIR who presided over the ceremony, lauded the leadership of De Chavez and expressed confidence in Wenceslao.

“With his proven track record of competence, professionalism, and dedication, I am confident that PCOL Wenceslao will continue the momentum and bring NOCPPO to greater heights,” Esguerra said.

With his assumption, Wenceslao called on NOCPPO personnel to work hand in hand with him, stressing that leadership is not about one person but about collective responsibility to ensure peace, security, and progress in Negros Occidental.*
