VMC conducts medical mission, distributes food assistance

VMC delivers food assistance to several barangays in Victorias City and EB Magalona as part of their continuing community service.

Victorias Milling Company (VMC) gave out food packs and health and hygiene kits to more than 500 households and served almost 300 patients during their medical mission in Barangay 13, Victorias City during the weekend.

VMC President Linley Retirado led the distribution of food packs, which to date have totaled over 2,500 consisting of rice, alcohol and face masks to three barangays, a press release from VMC said Thursday, June 15.

Retirado said this is part of their community service to their constituents, which they have been doing regularly in close coordination with the local government units, both at the city and barangay levels.

He also thanked the city government for its support to their Barangay Clinic on June 9 by augmenting their medical staff with doctors from the Victorias City Health Office.

VMC and Victorias City Health Office served almost 300 patients during the recent Barangay Clinic in Brgy. 13, Victorias City.*

“The Barangay Clinics initiative was launched in 2020 during the pandemic to help community members cope with limited access to doctors and medicines due to COVID restrictions. We sustained this initiative even after the pandemic and we will continue to conduct this, at least, on a quarterly basis,” Retirado said.

He also thanked Victorias City Mayor Javier Benitez for acknowledging VMC’s effort in extending assistance to more than 2,000 households in Barangay 13.

Retirado said that VMC will continue with their food packs distribution and assistance to barangays, that included over 230 food packs also given to residents of Brgy. Pasil in the Municipality of EB Magalona, and 300 packs for Brgy. 6A (Villa Miranda) in Victorias.*
